Reverie or Why I Suddenly Need 2700 Dollars +

Reverie is a short film created by photographer Vincent Laforet. Laforet is an expert in light/lighting, so naturally this film has a beautifully colored ambience.

While I would probably post the video based on quality alone, there is another tidbit that blew my mind: he shot it with a digital camera. Reverie is the first short film shot with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II DSLR camera (granted, a $2,700 camera). The video is amazing from a cinematic and technological perspective.

Mendenhall and Simmons Out for Season +

This is bad news for the Steelers. It is not as if we had an offensive line for Mendenhall to run behind (and now lost part of it as well), but he showed promise last night against Baltimore. If he could perform against that defense, who knows what he could do playing other teams. With Parker out it looks as if Mewelde Moore is the current Pittsburgh starting running back.

Oh boy.

Never Visit McDonald’s. +

This simple rule has been a very important one to me for many years. Those who know me personally know that I absolutely will not eat at McDonald’s. This is an example to show you why you should not either.

Steelers Lose Parker & Hampton for Week 4 +

As if I already was not concerned enough with our offensive line. Mendenhall will be getting his first start, and assuming he does not cough up the ball preseason-style he will be fine. Well, he will be as fine as any running back could be against the tough Ravens defense. Still with Flacco under center for Baltimore, this game could (and should) be won by the Steelers defense.

Luckily I Am Not a PC +

…or else I would be associated with this lackluster set of commercials. Just when Microsoft was starting to get people’s attention with their bizarre but effective Seinfeld ads, they cancel them and go in this direction.

Between this decision and the infamous Mojave Experiment, Microsoft’s advertisting department cannot seem to stop embarrassing itself and the company.

Edit: Things just get worse for Microsoft. The new commercials were made with Macs.
